Introduced in 2023, Althaïr approaches vanilla through the historical and contemporary language of Parfums de Marly. The house connects the composition to vanilla's rise in European perfumery during the eighteenth century, while interpreting the material through spices, creamy woods and ambery nuances. Founder and Creative Director Julien Sprecher describes its central idea as a vanilla that remains surprisingly fresh while retaining generosity and character. Today, Parfums de Marly designates Althaïr as one of its Iconic fragrances, placing it alongside established signatures such as Layton and Delina.

The Atelier Note

Althaïr demonstrates that richness does not require heaviness. Its vanilla has warmth and generosity, yet citrus, elemi and aromatic spices create enough contrast to preserve movement throughout the composition. The transition toward praline and guaiac wood feels polished rather than excessively sweet.
